The Bridge Section has about 180 members, making it one of the strongest bridge clubs in the area. We aim to play, teach and promote the game in a pleasantly competitive manner.
We have a well-furnished bridge room accommodating 12 tables. We also play our main duplicate sessions on Monday and Thursday evenings in the Old Hall, where capacity is 18 tables.

With our own premises, including bar, lounge and catering facilities, we are able to run a flexible programme and cater for a wide range of playing skill. There are informal Chicago bridge sessions for Improvers on some afternoons, and 'No Fears' duplicate on Friday evenings. The main duplicate sessions, at which Master Points are awarded, are played on Monday and Thursday evenings, with results and copies of the Duplimated hands posted on the website early next morning.
There is also a programme of competitions, and a club Winter Teams League which is played either in the bridge room or in members' homes on mutually convenient dates. The Club is affiliated to the English Bridge Union and the Surrey County Bridge Association, and participates in EBU/BGB/Surrey Simultaneous Pairs Competitions. We hold an annual EBU licensed Open Swiss Teams event.
Classes are usually run on a termly basis during the winter months, normally at an 'Improver' level, and sometimes, according to demand, for beginners. We occasionally run teaching workshops hosted by a well-qualified Teacher or Bridge Celebrity.
We publish a Newsletter several times a year.

Membership
Our membership comprises:
- Full members of the Bourne Club, who may play bridge without any further subscription.
- "Bridge Only" members, who pay a lower subscription rate.
- There is also a "Bridge Off Peak" category of membership. Bridge Off Peak members are generally 'Improvers'. They pay a reduced subscription and enjoy the same facilities as bridge members except that they may only play at the principal duplicate sessions on Mondays and Thursdays as guests.
Current subscription rates will be found on the Membership page.

Joining
Prospective members are required to play at the Club on six introductory visits (paying a visitor fee), so that before paying a joining fee and an annual subscription they may assess whether the club meets their expectations. If they then wish to join they complete an application form. In accordance with Bourne Club rules for all categories of membership, if an application is refused, no reason need be given.
Enquiries about Bridge Membership should be made to the Club Office (phone 01252 716144). Prospective members will be put in touch with the Bridge Section Membership Secretary who will give further advice, handle all introductory matters, and if needed will help in finding partners.
