Whether you want to play social tennis or more serious competitive tennis from internal box-leagues and ladders to highly regarded inter-club leagues, the Bourne Club offers everything for all tennis players.
Our great facilities include 5 outdoor courts comprising three artificial grass courts (two new in 2007) and two porous acrylic courts (new in 2008), and an indoor acrylic court. All outdoor courts are floodlit for evening play until 10pm. There is also a well-equipped gym to keep you toned and extra-fit.
All tennis events are organised by the club’s tennis committee and its valuable team of volunteers and helpers.
The tennis is well organised with internal box-leagues and ladders covering mixed singles, men’s and ladies doubles and mixed doubles. We also have social and competitive club nights on Tuesday and Friday evenings, so it’s very easy to get to know club members, and every few weeks a tournament is organised for the Tuesday club night. There are also men’s mornings on Saturday and Sunday and ladies club and ladies mornings on Monday and Thursday.
We have a team of highly qualified coaches and offer a full coaching programme run by Head Coach, Andy Warry, for players of all ages and ability, from tiny tots through to adults. There is an extensive mini-tennis and junior tennis programme with organised sessions on weekdays after school and at the weekend. There are ladies coaching sessions in the week and individual coaching on a one-to-one basis can easily be arranged with a coach of your choice.
The Club has also achieved ‘Tennis Clubmark’, which is the nationally recognised sports quality accreditation scheme for clubs with junior sections. Please click on the ‘Clubmark’ logo on this page for further details.
We have a website on-line booking system that allows you to book courts up to two weeks ahead. We also offer an excellent licensed lounge bar for that much needed after-game refreshment and regular social events are organised for everyone to enjoy.
To help members enjoy their tennis at the Bourne there are just a few basic regulations that we ask all tennis players to follow. Please click here for further details.
