2023 Padel season has been a good one for the Bourne Club male players, with 3 tournament wins between them out of 20 LTA tournaments combined.
Brian Condren has also competed on the international stage, representing his home nation of Ireland in the FIP Vets European Champions, FEPA Vets European Championships in Belgium & FEPA European Championships in Lisbon. Playing for your country is a huge honour, and a very proud movement for Brian & his family.
Jamie Wilkinson & Brian Condren who play together have seen some great success this year, winning the Welsh Open & the Winchester Open. They have also competed in several regional & British Tour events over the year, playing some of the best players in the UK. Both Brian & Jamie have finished the year in the top 50 players in the UK, a huge achievement from them. Jamie & Brian lead the Men’s A team who made the IPadel & Wilson league.
After on picking up a Padel racket 12 months ago, Barney Brown has stormed into his Padel journey with a brilliant 2023. Barney has played 11 tournaments, winning a first round match at a British Tour event. Barney has ended the year with a win at the Adidas HOP event securing him an Adidas sponsorship for 2024, an invite to the Adidas HOP finals this weekend, and an invite to the U18 GB training camp just before Xmas. An exciting 2024 for Barney.
An exciting time for the club moving into 2024, with more players getting the flavour for competing and hopefully new opportunities for all.
On Saturday 18th November the Bourne Club celebrated 100 years with a large Gala Event which saw 286 people pack our sports hall for a night to remember.
What a night it was, one which will be spoken about as we head into our next 100 years. An evening packed full of cheer for what the clubs means to so many.
We had amazing food from Chris & his amazing team at Signature Catering Ltd who we would highly recommend.

We raised just under £11k on our auction, thank you to all those who gave us prizes to auction.
A big thank you goes to the 3 members who put this all together, Anika, Ben & Jo. A big thank you to Colin & his fantastic bar team George, Ava, Dani & Edith for all their hard work before, on and after the night. A big thank you to the office staff who helped throughout the weekend, Bev, Rachael, Marissa, Alison & Paul.
Like anything at a members club, the bond of members are what pulls these events together, so a thanks to the members who came to help over the weekend including our tennis coaches who did their part whilst the rain came down.
It was certainly a proud evening for the club, and showcased what being a member of our club is all about. And we are looking forward to seeing where the club will be over the next 100 years.

Congratulations to Stephen Gosling, who won gold in the Men’s Doubles 4.5 Advanced with Nathan Hill, gold with Liz Mortimer in the Mixed Doubles 3.5, and bronze in the Mixed Doubles 50+ with Gill Bushell. Jack Butterfield won gold in the Men’s Singles 4.5 👏
