Badminton » Introduction
The Bourne Club welcomes players of all ages and abilities to play badminton.
We have teams in the local men's, mixed and ladies’ leagues, as well as a very active social section suitable for all levels of play. Badminton is a very enjoyable, yet physically demanding game. It will help you get fit and stay healthy. It provides an aerobic workout, and uses many different muscle groups for genuine fitness and flexibility. As badminton is played indoors, it can be played throughout the year.
Badminton is a game of skill and touch; consequently both men and women can play at the same level. It's easy to learn and the equipment needed is inexpensive - indoor sports shoes and a racquet.
Following the club sessions, members generally meet up in the Club bar for a coffee or a drink. The Bourne Club has a very friendly atmosphere and welcomes new players. There is a diary of social events during the year that are open to all members.

The Club has five badminton courts in total, four of which are in the main sports hall, and one in the Old Hall. The sports hall courts share the space with an indoor tennis court, and benefits from overhead heating and ventilation, as well as the obligatory lighting. The Old Hall forms part of the original building and has a fantastic sprung wooden floor.
